Short Biography
Studied statistics as an undergraduate in Aberdeen, then did a PhD at the Department of Statistics and Modelling Science at Strathclyde. The PhD looked at HIV spread amongst injecting drug users. Joined the Centre for Drug Misuse Research at the University of Glasgow in 1994. Main research studies involve using the 'capture-recapture' method to estimate the number of people who use drugs such as heroin. Have carried out a range of quantitative studies in the area of drug misuse. Also completed a Masters in Public Health at the University of Glasgow.
