Expert workshop and public seminar: ‘Data on ethnicity in social survey research’, University of Stirling, 28 January 2010 

This one day event will begin with presentations on the DAMES Node’s research resource ‘GEMDE’, a portal system which is designed to enhance access to data resources relevant to the analysis of ethnicity in social survey research. Later in the afternoon, it will feature two public seminar papers on related topics.

DAMES is a research Node within the ESRC programme in e-Social Science. The Node is working on the development and support of services related to data management activities undertaken by social scientists. By ‘data management’, we mean activities, typically undertaken as part of the research process, concerned with preparing, manipulating, ‘cleaning’, documenting and standardising data for the purposes of analysis.
