ADLS Safe Researcher Training

ADLS will be running three more administrative data training course, one of which will eb held in London.

For background information, administrative data (such as hospital, education or social security records) offer powerful tools for social science research.  However, gaining access to and using this type of data successfully requires specialist skills.  Also, data holding organisations will expect a high level of data security awareness before they would consider releasing potentially disclosive personal data to a researcher.

These ESRC courses run by the ADLS, aim to fill this skill gap.  The course will provide researchers with the basic understanding, knowledge and skills to apply for and use administrative data for research confidently and responsibly.  The course has been endorsed by major data holding organisations in the UK and also the ICO.

The 'Safe Researcher' training courses will run on the 25th May 2011 in Edinburgh, 14th June in London and 14th July at the University of Manchester.

Last year, all courses were heavily oversubscribed and so if you wish to attend register now to avoid disappointment.
