Society for Longitudinal and Life Course Studies International Conference
Society for Longitudinal and Life Course Studies International Conference
Clare College, Cambridge, England: 22nd, 23rd, 24th September 2010
CALL FOR PAPERS – DEADLINE APPROACHING
The topics the conference will address extend across the whole range of longitudinal and life course studies and include: life course stages (including physical, psychological, social developmental and ageing processes and functioning) spanning the early years, adolescence and youth, adulthood and old age; community, household, family and income dynamics; intergenerational transfers and returns to experience and achievement; gene-environment interaction; social biographical, ‘mixed’, multi-level and comparative methods; innovative methodology - design, measurement, analysis and research practice (statistical and qualitative); longitudinal research and policy.
Keynote addresses by: Karl Ulrich Mayer (Yale University), Carol Dezateux (Institute of Child Health, University College London) and Bren Neale (University of Leeds).
Proposals are sought for three kinds of presentation at the conference, for which a 200 word abstract is required: A symposium comprising at least 3 papers to be presented in a one and a half hour session or a number of sessions up to four – for which an abstract of no more than 200 words is required and an abstract of no more than 200 words for each paper. An individual paper for oral presentation for which an abstract of no more than 200 words is required.
A poster presentation for which an abstract of no more than 200 words is required.
The closing date for abstracts is 21st May 2010.
Decisions will be made about the abstracts by the first week of June 2010, when all contributors will be notified.
If you are interested in presenting a paper or convening a symposium, it is essential that you submit your abstract in advance of the closing date. Once your proposal is accepted you will be eligible to have your costs reimbursed by the European Science Foundation (ESF) through EUCCONET.
ESF funding is dependent on the existence of a full conference programme. The programme will be compiled on the basis of the abstracts received, which underlines the importance of meeting the 21st May 2010 deadline.
