AQMeN Annual Lecture 2010 - Statistics: The Science of the Individual

Professor David Hand, Professor of Statistics in the Department of Mathematics at Imperial College London, will deliver this year's Annual Lecture on Thursday 25th November at the Royal Society of Edinburgh.
David is currently President of the Royal Statistical Society and he has a wide range of research interests,which include multivariate statistics, classification methods, pattern detection, the interface between statistics and computing and the foundations of statistics. His application of statistical methods has covered a number of disciplines, including medicine, psychology and finance, and he has acted as an expert advisor to both public and private sector organisations, including governments, banks and pharmaceutical companies.
The lecture will begin at 6.30pm and a drinks reception will follow in the Upper Gallery.
