Selection Criteria
Applicants must be registered as a doctoral student in a Scottish University and be in their first or second year of a full-time PhD (or part-time equivalent). Students will be selected to ensure a broad representation from across all the Scottish Universities.
A panel of academics will consider each application and decide who may attend based on a number of criteria. Applicants will be prioritised on the following basis:
- Students who demonstrate that they have an aptitude for and/or existing expertise in using quantitative methods as part of their doctoral studies.
- Those who are likely to benefit the most from attending in terms of building capacity in subject areas where there is limited quantitative expertise.
- Students who provide innovative and exciting ideas for how they will feedback or disseminate information about the training event to postgraduate students within their own University.
- Having a supportive mentor who evidences their commitment to helping and encouraging the students' dissemination activities.
