PhD Residential Event in Edinburgh
Advanced Quantitative Research Methods: Issues of Data Collection, Analysis and Presentation
Applications are open to first and second year PhD students studying in Scotland to attend the first AQMeN Doctoral Training Event. This event aims to enhance students' understanding of the use of quantitative data in research and policy, and to promote the application of advanced quantitative methods in your research.
As the event is funded by the ESRC it is free to attend. Students are entitled to have all of their travel expenses reimbursed (tickets can be purchased in advance, provided sufficient notice is given). Students are also entitled to free bed and breakfast accommodation for a maximum of three nights at University of Edinburgh accommodation, the Kenneth MacKenzie Suites. Lunches will be provided during the course of the training event and an evening meal allowance will be offered.
The event will run over four days, commencing on the evening of 11th May with a lecture given by writer and broadcaster Michael Blastland - 'The Public Perils of Statistics and How to Survive Them'.
The doctoral training event will begin on Wednesday 12th May and finish at 4pm on Friday 14th May. This event will take place at Napier University, Edinburgh.
