The Future of Education Data in Scotland

AQMeN and The Scottish Government Education Analysis Division are pleased to host this one-day seminar. The programme will cover data from pre-school to higher education. It offers an opportunity to see how others have used education data in their work, to find out what data is available and how to request access and to consider how the rich store of data available could be used for research and for improvement. 

The aims of this event are to:

  • Hear from a number of quantitative methods academics on how they have used education data with fascinating results
  • Provide an overview of the range of data available on education in Scotland and how to access this data with demonstrations by government analysts who produce data
  • Discover plans for the future development of data in Scotland from the Scottish Government’s Chief Statistician

Who should attend:

Anyone wishing to know about the availability and possible uses of education data in Scotland. Attendees are likely to be academics with an interest in education and/or quantitative methods, local authority and school personnel who make use of education data as part of their work and commentators on education who may wish to find out more.
